Coach-Led Video Lessons

Short, straight-talk videos from OHP coaches — what the next level demands, explained in minutes, not hours.

Workbooks That Get Used

Self-assessments, training plans, and eligibility checklists — players fill them out, parents see the plan.

A Mentor in Their Corner

Every player is paired with a current OHP Head Coach for a monthly one-on-one check-in — accountability, encouragement, and honest answers.

These are the years that decide the path.

At U15 and U16, the gap between players stops being about skill and starts being about everything around it — the training, the grades, the recruiting knowledge, the composure. This is the Advancement Stage of the OHP pathway: six units, released one per month from September through February — the competitive standard and an honest measure against it, the academic and eligibility foundation started early, structured strength and speed work, fueling a growing engine, how recruiting actually works today, and competing with confidence under pressure. Every player is also paired with a mentor — a current OHP Head Coach — who meets with them each month to review the work and their recent stretch of play. It isn't another camp or clinic; it's the education and support layer that wraps around your child's team and coaching.

Built by coaches who've lived it

Ohio Hockey Project is Cleveland's original skill development organization, founded in 2008 by Russ Sinkewich — AAA hockey with the Cleveland Americans, NCAA Division I at Bowling Green, and a seven-year pro career including the AHL's Cleveland Monsters. The OHP staff carries more than 85 combined years of professional, collegiate, and junior playing experience, with alumni who've gone on to the NHL, AHL, and NCAA. This curriculum is that staff's answer to a pattern they kept seeing: talented players separated in the end not by skill, but by the habits, mindset, and navigation nobody had structurally taught them.

Spencer Bellina — Advancement Mentor

A Medina, Ohio native who walked the exact road this program maps — and is still walking it. Spencer played junior hockey in the NCDC and NAHL before a four-year NCAA career as a defenseman at Plattsburgh State, where he earned his degree in Economics and Finance. This season he begins his professional career with the Knoxville Ice Bears of the SPHL. He made the junior-and-college decisions your player is facing — recently — and knows what the road actually looks like from the inside.
